The Transformation
I met Christof last year. Employed by an international leisure company, at the time he was in charge of sailing activities. A late twenties, six foot plus tall, athletically built man, I could not help but think: he seems so unhappy. As if he was stuck in an unhappy, uncomfortable space…
I met up with him again this week, about 5 months later. I could not believe the transformation from sad to “glowing”. Christof currently subcontracts his services to the same company that previously employed him. Although his role has changed - he no longer is in charge of sailing - he continues to interact with (ex-) colleagues, he continues to work in the leisure industry, he continues to deal with the same type of clients (tourists), his activities (what he always wanted to do) continues to be about boats, sailing and the ocean. The one singular aspect that has caused the transformation: he feels free. He is building a business and he loves it. He has joy.
Christof made a small adjustment to his life. He re-arranged his options, and he is living life with joy. Tres bienne!
